Get ready to add some vintage flair to your designs! In this tutorial, we'll show you how to achieve a classic comic book look by mastering the art of halftone in Photoshop. Follow along and learn how to create a unique and eye-catching visual style.

Step 1

Open your image in Photoshop and then Right Click > Convert to a Smart Object.

Step 2

Let’s go to a Filter Gallery now and apply a Grain filter with the following settings:

  • Intensity: 80
  • Contrast: 90
  • Grain Type: Enlarged

Then apply a Film Grain filter and set the Grain to 3, Highlights and Intensity to 10.

Step 4

Go to Filter > Pixelate > Color Halftone. Use the following settings:

  • Max Radius: 25
  • Channel 1:160
  • Channel 2: 110
  • Channel 3: 45
  • Channel 4: 90

Double Click on the little icon near the Halftone Filter in the layers panel and change the Blend Mode of the Color Halftone Filter to Darken.

Step 6

Apply a Noise filter with the Amount set to 15.

Change the Blend Mode of the noise filter to Multiply.

Step 8

And as a last step let’s adjust the Brightness&Contrast of our image.
