Torn Photo Effect

This torn paper photo effect rips an image into ragged vertical strips, dropping a full-color band down the center while the panels on either side fall to grainy black-and-white. Artwork goes into the Smart Object, the tear lines rebuild around it, and the background color swaps to sit under any layout. The color runs only where the paper is torn open, so the eye lands on the strip you want it to.
