OMBRU — Bold Futuristic Display Font

OMBRU is a futuristic, rounded display font drawn as a single unicase alphabet. Every terminal closes on a half-circle and every joint flows into the next curve. The proportions are wide and heavy, turning a single word into a block of solid form. The language bridges soft retro-futuristic tech lettering and Y2K plastic, and it holds at any size a logo needs.

One case, one alphabet

Unicase here is literal. Capitals and lowercase are the same letters, with the same widths and height. The shift key changes nothing on screen. A name typed as "Ombru", "OMBRU" or "ombru" sets identically, which removes the usual argument about case in a wordmark. Size, color, and spacing become the only levers for hierarchy, and a mixed-case caption pasted from a brief comes out as one even line, not a ragged one.

Built wide on purpose

The letters are broad; the spread between the narrowest and the widest is extreme. A five-letter logotype takes the horizontal space a seven-letter word usually needs. The O is a wide ellipse, not a circle, and the flat-sided letters stretch to match it. The rhythm holds even across a word. Stems measure 190 units against a cap height of 700, and the weight remains in display territory at every size.

20,768 kerning pairs

The kerning table is flat, not class-based: 20,768 individual pairs, 63 percent of every combination the character set allows, each one a separate decision. A geometry this round needs that, because a bowl next to a diagonal and a bowl next to a flat stem open completely different gaps.
