Magik Typeface

About the product

Magik is a groovy display font drawn in fat rounded strokes that seal almost every aperture and finish on ball terminals where a stem would normally stop. The letters sit low and wide at almost zero contrast, so a short word locks into one continuous mass with the counters doing all the work. This lands in straight 1970s record-sleeve territory, redrawn clean.

The Mixed style swaps part of the alphabet for slanted drawings, so upright and italic letters alternate inside a single word and the line picks up a wobble. Behind both styles is a second full alphabet of alternate letterforms, giving two shapes for most characters when a logotype needs a custom fit.

Practical uses:

  • Branding and logos — record labels, skate brands, juice bars, hair salons, streetwear.
  • Packaging design — soda cans, snack bags, candy wrappers, cosmetics tubes, ice cream tubs.
  • Poster and flyer design — club nights, festivals, roller discos, student events, market days.
  • Merchandise — t-shirts, tote bags, caps, enamel pins, sticker sheets.
  • Social content — profile logotypes, campaign headers, quote cards, launch announcements.

Features:

  • 2 styles: Regular, Mixed;
  • Mixed style combines upright and italic letterforms in one alphabet;
  • single-case alphabet — uppercase and lowercase keys produce the same letterforms;
  • numerals, punctuation & symbols;
  • a full set of alternate letterforms in both styles;
  • 150 glyphs per style;
