Barstagle — Vintage Display Font

About the product
Barstagle is a vintage display font that works in the territory between Victorian serif and blackletter — upright, high-contrast construction with narrow hairline strokes pulled against wide main stems, and decorative curls on the capitals that read as heraldic rather than ornamental. The weight and rhythm make it particularly well-suited to all-caps settings at label scale, where the tight ink traps and pointed terminals hold their detail.
The font ships in two styles: Regular carries the full gothic character with curled terminals and decorative spurs; Unthorns strips those back for a cleaner, more restrained version of the same skeleton. Both work well for whiskey and wine label typography, spirits branding, badge logo compositions, vintage poster headlines, barbershop and tattoo studio identity, and editorial display settings. Use them together for hierarchy — Unthorns as the secondary weight, Regular for the hero word.
