Alathena Font Family

About the product
Alathena lives in the twenty-five years when French graphic style was leaving Art Nouveau and arriving at Art Deco: apothecary labels, boutique fascias, chocolate wrappers, and confiture jars lettered by hand. The capitals are tall and narrow with a high waist, hairline contrast, and small pointed spurs where a serif would sit. Coiled swashes unwind from the caps and from final letters, and pairs like OO, CC, and GG lock into single ligatures, which is where this Art Deco display font family gets its harder-edged half.
Six weights run from Thin to Extra Bold, each with matching small caps, so a wordmark and its supporting line hold together. The character set reaches 2,300+ glyphs, with over 400 swashes, oldstyle figures, a full f-ligature set, 20+ discretionary ligatures, and automatic fractions and ordinals.
Usage: packaging and labels, branding, logos, book covers, title pages, poster design, stationery, and invitations.
