Meddon - Free 18th Century Handwriting Font

About the product

Meddon was traced out of the handwriting in an eighteenth-century legal document, so its rhythm belongs to a clerk working through a page with a pointed pen. Vernon Adams kept the slope loose and the loops long, which gives a line of text the look of an old ledger entry.

Nothing in it is tidied into calligraphy; the irregularity is the source material showing through. The font works for Christmas card headlines, wedding invitations, certificates, book covers, menu headings, spirits labels, museum graphics, event stationery, and social media graphics.

Included:

  • uppercase and lowercase letters;
  • numbers, punctuation, and symbols;
  • multilingual support across the extended Latin script.
