Medieval Background Patterns

The antique revival never fully left bookbinding, and this set of seamless medieval background patterns picks up where the 1800s private presses left off — ornament embossed into colored stock, the way old endpapers and heraldic bindings were pressed.

We curated 24 tileable designs across three families: winding floral scrollwork of stems and ornamental leaves, heraldic motifs lifted from historic coats of arms (griffins, rampant lions, stags, and perched birds), and geometric fields of fleur-de-lis, diamonds, and quatrefoil stars.

Each pattern repeats cleanly, and every design arrives in three finishes — raised color emboss, black & white, and flat vector — for packaging, textiles, stationery, book covers, wallpaper, wedding suites, fabric prints, and museum-style editorial layouts.
